What connection, if any, did this artist have with Amtrak?

Julius La Rosa

Hint: think back to "Pioneer Days".

I know it wouldn't be that La Rosa used Amtrak, to get out of town, after Arthur Godfrey fired him.

I wonder if younger members of the Forum are even familiar with the name, Arthur Godfrey? Godfrey just about ruled CBS when he was on the radio. As a youngster, I remember people used to sit outside their homes, on the porch or lawn, with a radio beside them so they could listen to Godfrey. You could walk a few blocks and not miss any part of his radio program.

While Richard does not have the answer I seek, here is a bit of history to which he has referred:

Just a guess....maybe Julius La Rosa's voice could have been used for advertising or station announcements?
