Interesting article about the decals. I never realized the "decorating" process was so labor-intensive.Then again, if Amtrak simply opted for plain stainless steel cars, each sporting nothing more than the word "Amtrak" in modern black letters (a simple-but-elegant design scheme that both the Santa Fe and the Burlington used very effectively), the railroad would save all that time, extra labor, and a fair amount of cash.
There are so many more pressing things that Amtrak needs to fix. I wish they'd spend the "decal" portion of my tax dollar on something more essential.
