Is Redondo Junction located off Alemeda Streeet? How would one walk there from the Union Station? I know it's not Redondo Beach. It's not on any map. What is the area called?

Thanks

Thanks, Now how can I access it? I will be there Feb 7th and would really like to see them get my train(Southwest Chief) ready for departure. Can I get special clearance? I am a major major railfan and this would be cool seeing them getting my train ready. I arrive on the bus from Bakersfield around 4:10 and plan to board at 5:45 1 hour before departure.

Can I go out on the track to see them get the train ready in the station if I can't go to Redondo Jct? Thanks

I would doubt they would let you near the yards, other than over a bridge on Alameda St., or near the LA river.

Do you mean where they load the crew etc.?

Redondo Junction is approximately 5 miles south of L.A. Union Station, along the Los Angeles River. You cannot walk to it from the station, and, as someone else said, I imagine no one other than AMTRAK or other railroad employees would be able to walk around the yards.
