On my recent round trip LAX - SEA we were put on buses at SBA for the remainder of the return trip.

So I called Guest Rewards. "Hello. I was expecting first class accomodations and didn't get them for the last few miles of the trip."

The ENTIRE RETURN TRIP points we re-credited to my account. 15,000 !

Wow, sorta reminds me of the days of the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" certificates.

In 2001, the Sunset Limited I was on was 13 hours late into Tucson -- meaning we couldn't use the hotel room there we pre-payed for and also lost the rental car we had booked. I got a certificate for the entire cost of the trip (over $2,000) and ended up going in a deluxe bedroom the next year between CHI and DEN on the CZ for free.

Wow, you are really lucky! I was also bussed and was in a Sleeping Car when onboard the train. However, I did not use Guest Rewards points (since I do not have enough) to book. I did though call Customer Relations and was told I will be getting some kind of "Coupon/Voucher" in a week or so.
