Is there a open/close closet or just the hanger rack in the roomette on the Coast Starlight?

The Starlight usually uses Superliner II equipment, which has the hanging rod. Superliner I cars have the mini closet. In the last year or so I have seen refurbished Superliner I cars on the Starlight, so anything is possible.

Personally, I prefer the hanging rod over the closet. We travel with a garment bag, and we like being able to access the zipper pockets without removing the whole thing from the hanger.

When you get off, its easy to forget things in the closet that are out of sight. We almost did that once. So I prefer the hanger rod.

One thing I like about the Superliner I closets: I can stash my laptop out of sight and lock it with a cable to the rod. I can still use it in the seat/bed without unlocking it.
