I just got my new timetable from AMTRAK today. I noticed that the new Norfolk Service is not listed in the new timetable!

It is however, shown in AMTRAK's on-line timetables in the web site, and can be printed from there.

It's there Rich, but you sure got to look for it - hard.

On the Northeast Corridor pages, look for Train 71; way at the bottom, you'll see the Petersburg and Norfolk times.

In this instance, they have clearly deviated from the usual "bar" pattern of timetabling, and rather adopted the airline's (and for a while, Amtrak) style of point to point.

I would hope they could find space (whoops, that means less ad space) to include the Virginia Service page that is now, as you note, at the web. They might also expand that to include the Williamsburg Newport News trains as well, and rename it Virginia Tidewater Service.

Found them, Gil -- thanks a lot!!!

I agree that there should be a separate page for that service in the printed national tt, especially since it is a new service, and many people don't know about it yet, and there are still people who don't have computers and Internet access to get the "latest and greatest" info "hot off the press". I like the "Virginia Tidewater Service" idea.

Yes, odd that they featured NEW services on the cover, namely Norfolk, Freeport, and Brunswick, but gave the Norfolk service short shrift in the regular timetable pages. Not so much for the new Downeaster stops.

My new timetable arrived today...... was also surprised by how little fanfare the Norfolk service received inside the covers.
