Occasionally but it's not chronic like #14.

I've been watching #14 pretty closely the last week or so because we'll be on it next week. Its times at Salinas are all over the clock. It seems to be anywhere between 7:30 and 10:00pm! This is bothersome, because until recently it was rarely later than 8:00, and usually there between 7:00 and 7:30. (Scheduled time is 6:36pm).

I'm not loking forward to hanging out in the station for who knows how long (we rely on the Thruway bus from Monterey). If it is too late we'll miss the on-board dinner. I'm planning to pack some sandwiches just in case we end up dining in the station. I've never had to do that before. It's Utterly Pathetic, you know.

Hey! Yesterday it was only about 30 minutes late. Can this be the start of a new trend?

I guess not. Monday's train lost 2 hours between Paso Robles and Salinas, departing the latter 2 hours and 45 minutes late.

Leave it to my wife to notice that the worst delays are occurring when the weather is good. If they're doing track work that would make sense. On rainy days they're probably not doing much work, so the train isn't delayed. Our departure is scheduled for Wednesday, and stormy weather is predicted. Here's one case where bad weather might be good news.
