Did the Amtrak train "City of New Orleans" ever run through Hattisburg, MS?
Does it sometimes run through there as a special, or, when rail is being repaired on the main line?

No, the City of New Orleans roughly follows the route of I 55 south of Jackson, Mississippi. The cresent goes through Hattisburg. I do not know of any occassions where the City was rerouted through Hattisburg.
