We will be departing FTW on the Texas Eagle this Saturday bound for BOS via Chicago. The Lake Shore Limited isn't scheduled to leave until 7:45 PM Sunday evening. I am assuming that we won't be served dinner on this train. Is that correct?

Thanks,

Mark

When we took the LSL in August 2000, we were ushered to the dining car before the train was out of the Chicago yard. It was an interesting meal...we were halted in the yard while they attached the mail/freight cars, and the power was cut off. It wasn't dark at all in the cars thanks to the yard lights, but I was impressed with the waiters...without missing a beat, they broke out glow sticks for all of the tables. I guess that either the kitchen isn't electric, or the food was already pretty much prepared, because we were served our food cooked to order and very quickly.

Meal service is available on the Lake Shore Ltd. departing Chicago. The sleeper passengers will be invited to the dining car first & if space permits the coach passengers. Meal service will continue till all passengers desiring to eat are fed.
