Im sort of confused about the schedule can someone just give me the cities I would pass through on my way from NY to CHI, or CHI to NY. No stops just Ny to Chi
What might be the usual consist of this train.

You'll pass through the following cities on the Lake Shore Limited (These also are Station Stops) from New York To Chicago:
New York-Penn Station
Croton-Harmon, NY
Albany-Rensselaer, NY (Station in in Suburb of Rensselaer on East Side of Hudson River)
Schenectady, NY
Utica, NY
Rochester, NY
Buffalo-Depew, NY (Station is in Eastern Suburb of Depew about 4 miles East of Buffalo)
Erie, PA
Cleveland, OH
Toledo, OH
Waterloo, IN
South Bend, IN
Chicago, IL

The typical consist for this train and I can prove this because I just photographed it on May 30th is as follows:
2 P42's For Power
1 Baggage Car
1 Viewliner Sleeper
2 Amfleet II Coaches
1 Amfleet I Cafe Car (Sometimes Amfleet II)
3 Amfleet II Coaches
1 Heritage Diner
2 Viewliner Sleepers
1 Heritage Sleeper (Crew Sleeper)
1 Baggage Car
Road Railers

Everything from the Power to the Cafe Car comes from Boston and will be added to the train in Albany. Your train will be pulled by a P32AC-DM from New York to Albany then placed behind the Boston Section and travel west to Chicago as one train. I've rode this train several times in the last couple years, and I have several travelogues written about my trips on my web site, feel free to check it out...
