Who knows of affordable photo shoots (trains or otherwise) in 2007?

The Chama Steam Association is doing a pair of photo freights on the Cumbres & Toltec narrow gauge. One is Sept 30-Oct 1 and the other is October 20. Prices to ride the trains are hefty ($500 and $800) but they are selling a 'chasers pass' for $100. For that you get name tags identifying you as someone who supports the cause which, in turn, make you welcome to join the photo lines for any runby you can access by road. The chaser package includes an area guide and schedule of events to make it easier to keep up with the action too.

Clearly I'm seriously considering make the trip out west for this one.

I don't know what you consider "affordable", but window shopping never costs too much--so Check This Out.

NotElvis and Eric,

Happy New Year!

Thanks for your thorough responses and links! Eric, I've done the NNRy shoot and it was fantastic. I posted my photos at:

http://moknowsphotos.com/Ely/index.html

We got a great deal on that one price wise, but I don't see the same rate nowadays. I got my best shots ever at that shoot, that's why I'd like to do another one some day now that I'm retired from high school teaching...but that means I don't have the income I used to have.

Thanks for the links, both of you, that's what I wanted when I made the post.
