After many complications we have finally booked our trip to Seattle this summer on the Starlight and the Sunset. This was was supposed to be our Spring Break trip but due to tennis schedules we postponed it till May 31st. I'm booked in Roomette 5 on the outbound Sunset and Roomette 10 on both Starlights and inbound Sunset. My parents are booked in Bedroom C on the Sunsets and D on #14 and E on #11. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on our trip!!!! Now just one last question, is Roomette 10 a good room or a bad room?

I have been in Roomette 10 and my only bad comment was that, since it is by the door between cars, you hear the door open and close everytime it does so and while it is open the track noise increases. It wasn't terrible, just a noise you don't hear closer to the middle of the car, such as in Roomette 5. Please let us know how the trip went. The Starlights are running late again and I will be on the southbound late in June. Hoping things straighten out by the time you and I are on it.
Have a great trip.

Uh-oh, I am sorry to hear the Coast Starlights are running late again. I was hoping that talking to paid off and this would be a good year for the CS. In fact, I was hoping to make a Starlight connection in Sacramento to the eastbound CA Zephyr in a few months. Hmm .. . wonder what will happen if I miss it? I have a hotel in Chicago booked . . . oh, well, it's an adventure. . .

If time permits, I would recommend laying overnight in Sacramento at the Vagabond (they ought to have me on payroll.....honestly...). That way you can enjoy whatever adventure the CS brings without worry about the connection.
