My wife and I intend to take NJ Transit from Newark to Manhattan Pennsylvania Station. We each have one medium to large suitcase - we are boarding a Cunard ship to England so can't travel really light - and my question is: is this amount of luggage going to be a problem on the train? We will be travelling after the morning rush-hour, about 10:30 or so. Thanks in advance.

Hmm. Well, this is a day late, so I don't know when you get to read this. NJT's luggage racks are roomy enough to take the biggest suitcases, although I have heard that the racks on the multi-levels are smaller. After 10 am, there's plenty of room on the trains even if you have to put the bags on the floor on on the seat next to you. Hope you have a good trip.

Thanks for the re-assuring information. In the Toronto area, our GO trains don't offer racks for luggage, so in the off-hours it is necessary to put suitcases in front of empty seats, which is not a big problem.
