Hi Guys,

I thought the following may be of interest to your members and the USA railfan community.

Railpage Australia (http://www.railpage.com.au) has established a railcam site on a very busy freight main line in and out of Melbourne.

There are a number of cameras providing feeds of the rail traffic which includes:

1. Inbound and outbound freight (intermodal and other traffic) access to Melbourne's terminals including:

Port of Melbourne
North Dynon Terminal
Melbourne freight Terminal
South Dynon Terminal
Melbourne Yard and MOT

2. Interstate Standard Gauge traffic for passenger services which includes:

Melbourne to Adelaide "Overland" service 3 times per week
Melbourne to Sydney "XPT" service 4 times per day

3. All freight on SG west of Melbourne terminals passes by the cameras

The project provides a real time updated photostream on flickr for camera #2 which is a IR capable unit.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/railpage/

This photostream is updated each time a train passes the cameras. Images are taken and sent to flickr as motion is detected.

video from camera #2 is sent to youtube. This is available at:

http://www.youtube.com/user/railpage

Tags for the video content are "bunbury street" and railpage

A regularily updated "live" picture of the tracks and trains is available via camera #1 at:

http://kkvcam1.omni.com.au

The location of the webcam is illustrated here:

I hope you guys enjoy the project.

Regards
Brian
