I would like to see the next generation of trains see a concentration on comfort and leg room. If we can't build or bullet trains then have railcars that are comfortable so people would not mind a 90 minute commute.

The creators of Coaster is starting up another service called the Sprinter, running between Oceanside & Escondido. They plan to use new railcars by Siemens. They should have enough leg room & I'm sure the trip will last for 90 minutes. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. Just go to www.gonctd.com for more info.

Although I don't live in North America,I think the commuter Railroads should introduce more services in off peak times.

More space between seats. Rode New Jersey transit last summer, and will say that the school buses I rode as a kid had more space between seats. this wa particularly rediculous on the Atlantic City line where the coaches are seldom full.
Also: 3-2 had to have been thought up by non-users.

Very much like the former Go Transit tri-levels that Dallas Trinity Railway express uses between Dallas and Fort Worth. Although some are starting to show signs of wear they are nicer inside then Chicago Metra Bi-Levels.

Yes! That would make the trains relevant to non-commuters also. I am able to ride Metrolink in SoCal on weekends only; a couple years ago I finally caught VRE (Virginia Rail Express) when I was in Rosslyn, VA on a Thursday. No weekend service there!
