(For those interested in the UP 6936, I copied this off of Trainorders.)
(For the record, I thought I would post this over here now that Trainorders seems to be down for a few hours at least.)

I found this thread on Trainorders where UPRRPR talks about the 6936.
This was originally posted on March 20th. That is what the 20/3/01 date style means.

RE: E9s Eastward CY to CB

The E9s will be pulling an Engineering Department inspection train starting March 22 from Council Bluffs out to S. California, then back via the Sunset and Tucumcari routes to Kansas City, then double back via the Hiwathia Sub. to the mainline at Gibbon and home March 30. I don't have a final wire on the schedule detail.

The Es are being used instead of the usual 6936 which most of you know was damaged in a grade crossing accident this winter. An evaluation is underway as to how and if to repair the unit. At issue is how to strengthen the nose to prevent debris from coming in the front door in the event of another collision. No work has been done.

UP's E-9's will pull an engineering inspection special from
Omaha to Southern California and return. Here is the schedule .

March 22; Council Bluffs to Cheyenne
March 23; Cheyenne to Salt Lake City
March 24; Salt Lake City to Las Vegas
March 25; Las Vegas to Los Angeles
March 26; Los Angeles (via Alhambra) to Yuma
March 27; Yuma to El Paso
March 28; El Paso to Dalhart
March 29; Dalhart to Kansas City
March 30 Kansas City to Council Bluffs
(via Hiawatha, Marysville, Kearney subs)
