This train just radioed UPDS 58 and said that the SP 8350 broke down on them at about 138 PM. They still expect to make it to Oakland but it will be at much slower pace.
I hope this is NOT the last time that the UPRR will use the SP 8350! By the way, this train was routed on the Alviso side.

UP DS 58 Doug just said a few minutes ago (148PM) that this train is passing thru Niles CA and working with "ONE HORSE !!" . "He was NOT working with a lot of power before with the 2 units and now he has a whole lot less!!"

(If this train was passing thru Niles then this train is in fact running up the former SP Hayward Line.--Daniel)

38 cars with a 5 car set out for Guadalupe

The INTERMODAL cars on this train, with the
exception of one set of double stacks was
all old cars. They were the single layer type. They must have cleaned out their dead storage of older INTERMODAL cars for this train.
