Heads up coast and CNW fans!!
Radio traffic incdicates that the CNW 8655 is leading the QRVDO UP Freight train south on the former SP Coast Line in CA. For those not familiar, the QRVDO is a regular daily southbound Coast Line freight. This train is enroute from Roseville(Sacramento CA)to Delores Yard near Long Beach CA. The CNW 8655 shows as departed Oakland CA at 1219 PM on October 4 on the UP Trace. This train should have passed thru San Jose at about 150 PM. I hope someone can get a photo of this train today!

I love the C&NW paint scheme. I've seen a few of the units leased to BNSF lately. One of the better freight carrier paint jobs.

I agree with you Eric, the CNW had a VERY CLASSY paint scheme. It is too bad it's getting to be a rare paint scheme to see because of the UP repainting program.
Here is an EXCELLENT C&NW Railfan website I just found: http://www.drgw.net/cnw/ .
Here is an EXCELLENT run-down on the various CNW commuter cars: http://www.drgw.net/~f40c/cars/cnw/cnwcars.html . I found this link from the EXCELLENT railroaddata website's section on SPECIFIC RAILROAD: http://www.railroaddata.com/rrlinks/Specific_Railroad/ and http://www.railroaddata.com/rrlinks/Specific_Railroad/more2.html
Those links should give you all the images you wanted to see of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad.
As I like to say, long live variety on the UPRR!!
