Just saw in Trains.com weekly newsletter, an item dated Feb 20 that says a trespasser was recently killed.

This now dead non-genius threw a roped bottle attached to a shopping cart in front of a UP train, probably hoping to see the cart get dragged along and smashed. Evidently he got caught up in the rope and was killed.

The deceased should be nominated for a "Darwin Award" for his stupidity (I don't care if he was sober, drunk, stoned, doing this on a dare, etc.).

This type of thing can be distressing to the engine crew, even if it was the victim's fault).

This sort of thing *is* distressing to the engine crew - plus the "victim's" family, paramedics, friends, etc, etc.

One less idiot in the world, but there'll be at least one more to replace him unfortunately.
