The U.S. Railroad Traffic Atlas shows a significant increase in post-merger traffic on the NS Buffalo line. What would account for this? Auto traffic to or from Canada?

The real mess at Cleveland has brought on the use of the old NKP Buffalo District. Rumors have been hot and heavy about NS possibly selling that line and the Southern Tier. But the mess at Cleveland has dictated the heavy usage of the Buffalo District.
