Bring Us Home - EBT #18 and #29

First off, notice that this message is posted with my own name and address rather than that of the FEBT. That is because this is my own personal plea for your support in this effort.
I have felt strongly about the worthiness of this project since the first indications the cars were for sale. I took time out of my Colorado vacation in 2000 to visit and photograph the cars and I belive they can, once restored, make a fine and important addition to the East Broad Top. Authentic passenger stock is one thing the EBT is lacking in its historic amount.

I've now officially put my money where my mouth is. This week I mailed a $1,000 check to the FEBT Restoration Fund tagged for 'Bring #18 and #29 home'. I now challenge YOU to match me. Not necessary at the same level (although that would be great too.) One fellow supporter has already matched me dollar for dollar. How about you? $10, $100 or $1000 will all help to save these cars and return them to where they should be.

If you cannot afford to support the project financially, do so by helping to advertise. Place the banner on your web site and link it to http://www.febt.org/1829.html . The banner can be found at http://www.febt.org/Images/ushome.jpg and can be linked or copied. If you do not have a web site, tell your friends or announce it in your favorite railroad forums. Every little bit will help.

These cars will not save themselves. They need our help. All of us.

Send your donations to the FEBT restoration fund treasurer Nancy E. Jacqmin at the following address:

Friends of the East Broad Top

Restoration Fund Treasurer

513 Shady Avenue, No. 12

Pittsburgh PA 15206-4447

Mark your check (or indicate on the return envelope) that your donation is to be used to "bring 18 and 29 home." Note that contributions to support our effort to acquire these EBT passenger cars will be treated as part of our current fund-raising campaign. Thus each donor who contributes a donation of $50.00 or more will receive one of our art reproductions of Ted Rose's Mount Union Train.
