A private individual from Connecticut has recently purchased New York Central Sleeper Car known as the Lebanon Valley “Pullman”. The car last ran on Amtrak’s Lake Shore Limited in late 1970’s and is in original as built condition! Built by Budd in 1949 the car is an all-stainless steel streamliner. The car had been stored in Birmingham Alabama and has now been moved to a car shop in Ohio. The car will be rebuilt and receive Amtrak certification. Springtime 2004 the owner plans on moving the car (on home rail NYC) from Cleveland via Albany/Rensselaer to Springfield Mass and then to a short line in Connecticut. The car will enter charter passenger service with sleeper capacity of 23. Springfield Mass will be the home terminal. For further information email walt@kebalo.com
