Read a book thirty years ago about RR wrecks. Local library no longer has it. Early RR accident in Cambridge MA killed a pedestrian named Pratt. Any body have "Down Brakes" and could give me the
reference the auther used for that accident, I would appreciate it.

I am not sure how to transcribe the link so I'll just paste it in below. I think this will help. Got it by advanced google search for "Down Brakes". Was item 35 I think. Hope this is what you wanted.

Ira, Thanks for the link. It was an interesting article, but didn't cover the accident I was looking for. Mark

Well gee. That looked so promising. I frequent a couple of used bookstoes and will look for the book. Perhaps the author cited the source of the info. Or it might be available via interlibrary loan if you can find a library that has the book. Maybe a local train museum in your area. One of the museum here in Denver has a nice train related library staffed by volunteers who are happy to chase train trivia. Good luck.
