Does anyone have information on any planned or proposed Amtrak detours this summer? The California Zephyr frequently detours via Wyoming but on another forum someone recently mentioned the possibility of a detour through the Feather River Canyon. Is that under consideration or was it a joke (note: it was in April but several days after April Fool's Day). How about the Builder...any more river line detours in the offing? I assume the Starlight detours are done for this year. Thanks for any info you may have.

There is a potential for record floods at Fargo and Grand Forks this year. Could be the Builder may run Fargo to Minot on the BNSF mainline as needed.

(BTW, I can't believe I lived to be old and never realized why so many serious floods on the Red River of the North. It flows north. The snow melt and ice thaws start upstream while downstream is still frozen solid. Ice dams form. Add spring rain and send it north to where the ground is frozen.)
