I made reservations in August for a trip Nov.23-Dec. 1. Since then I have posted numerous questions --- some stupid some not -- but all of concern to me. You guys are EXPERTS and have satisfactorily answered every one of them. Thanks to you I now have a better idea of rail travel. THANKS!

No problem - we enjoy helping, even if we do have differing opinions sometimes!

Having just gotten back from a trip myself, I can admit "counting down" is a very good thing.
I wouldn't call them stupid questions at all. However, the most commonly overlooked location for Amtrak-related answers (I'll invent the term Amanswers now) is the back of the national timetable. For anything beyond that, like what equipment goes where and which meals are served and what it's like from actual experience, we're here to help. And maybe have a little fun from time to time.

I always was told that the only "stupid" questions wqere the ones that people were afraid or didn't think to ask.

Wait no stupid questions?

So if a teacher asks you the question "Whats 2 + 2 equal" then you ask "do you want fries with that?" that looks a little stupid.
