Hi, I'm talking the Sunset LImited maybe from Los Angeles to Arizona, I was wondering if anyone knew any other trains I could take (no buses) to Tuscon. I prefer to not take the SUnset Limited because it leaves very late and arrives in Arizona quite early an dmy schedule in Arizona that day and next would not work out that way. SO does anyone know another possibility that is reliable?

THANKS,
ANTON

You're out of luck. The Sunset Limited is the only train that passes through Tucson.

Well, the only other train serving Arizona is the Southwest Chief. You could take the Southwest Chief from LA to Flagstaff and then rent a car or find a bus from Flagstaff to Tuscon - although it is not a short trip from Flagstaff to Tuscon.

The Southwest Chief arrives in Flagstaff at 5:23 a.m.

The road trip (by bus or rental car) from Flagstaff to Tucson takes 5 to 6 hours.

You could take the Texas Eagle... but you'd be on the back of the Sunset anyway!

Coast Starlight - no more AMTRAK service to Tempe either. Tempe is a suburb of Phoenix, and was formerly served by the Sunset Ltd, which now takes the more southerly route from Yuma to Tucson via Gila Bend, therefore bypassing the Phoenix area completely.

Ditto on the comments above.......
