Has any one ever noticed any mistakes made by Amtrak staff, like small mistake that you could just kinda laugh at or siouse things.
Once I was on a south-bound Surflinner and after an anouncement the conductors forgot to shut of the mic and every one on the train herd what they were saying, so after about 5 min of that they realized what they did and every one just laughed at them.
And once something more sieose like the train starting to pull away while poeple were still bording, and other things that are minor slip-ups or things that could make the morning paper.---Has you ever seen anything this?

The Surfliner used to use a "Disney-sounding" recorded announcement as the train approached each station. Maybe they still use that?

Once on the southbound route from Santa Barbara, the timing was off and it would announce "We are now arriving at ... Carpinteria" as the train was leaving the Carpinteria station after picking up passengers. After a couple of stops they turned it off.

Something like that happened to us on the CZ in 2000. We were at Sacramento, and several of us stepped off with our sleeping car attendant who was on the platform with us the whole time. All of a sudden the train stareted moving, even though the door was still open and we were all still outside! We all jumped on very quickly (about four of us plus the attendant). The attendant said he made hand signals to the engineer to stop the train, and it stopped within a few seconds. But it gave us all a scare.

As our attendant later explained, the engineer claimed he sounded the horn, but none of us in our group heard it, nor did the attendant. One of the folks on the platform with us was a member of the Amtrak Customer Advisory Committee and she said "You can be sure this is going in my report!"

Later , some idiot conductor said "Don't worry, we wouldn't leave you on the platform. All you need to do is wait for the train to stop again." Thanks, but such information is useless if given after the fact.
