as you guys have noticed, today is question day for me. This time i am wondering if there are any good amtrak books out there that one can recommend. to my knowledge, the latest good descriptive and pictorial Amtrak book was "All aboard Amtrak", by mike schafer, published in 1991 to celebrate 20 years of Amtrak. i am wondering if anybody knows of any other books published lately.

Making Tracks: An American Rail Odessy, Terry Pindell
Amtrak Survival and Pleasure Guide, Kathleen and Gerald Hill

The Christmas Train (fiction), David Baldacci
Booked on the Morning Train: A Journey Through America, George Scheer
Great American Rail Journeys, John Grant
The Old Patagonian Express: By Rail Through the Americas, Paul Theroux
Zephyr: Tracking A Dream Across America, Henry Kisor
Rail Ventures, Jack Swanson and Jeff Karsh

thanks for the info coach class. i am wondering if any of those books are a comprehensive review of amtraks history, like mike schafers 1991 book is. I really like that book, but it is starting to become a little outdated.
