Hi,
I'm looking for a picture of one of the original Metroliners (ex-PRR, Penn Central)with the front doors open and the diaphraghm connection extended. I have some old H0 scale Bachmann Metroliner models on hand and I would like to couple them up in a prototypical way, but I can't find any information about the way the doors would open (inward? outward?)and what the diaphraghm looked like. in fact I don't even know if it WAS a diaphraghm or some other mechanism. Does anyone remember?

Thanks,

Arjen

The pair of end doors on the Metroliners popped out and slid to the sides, just like the doors on a "plug door" boxcar. They didn't swing either in or out. Think of them as like sliding doors on a subway train that slide along the outside of the car body.

Inside was a diaphragm with a stainless steel portal and a black bellows. Sorry I don't have a photo for you.
