Since the Sunset Limited start it's westward run from New Orleans instead of Orlando, the train has been ontime. I'm talking ontime to the seconds.

I know because everytime I try to go down to station to see it i'm at tennis practice and can only hear it whistle off toward Deming.

P.S Today's #1 is only 28 minutes late between Beaumont and Houston,TX.

How late can it be while still considered "on-time"? Two hours?

It really does suggest that CSX did most of the delaying to the westbound Sunset. UP then considered it to have lost its slot and thus ran it as a low priority train. "A late train only gets later" as the saying goes.

That's not to say the CSX were particularly bad - if they've got a busy railroad, there's not a lot they can do.

Since the line east of New Orleans is down, they should double the tracks.
