Does anyone know why the website shows the fare for #43 (NYP-PGH) to be $70 for April 3,4,5,6 instead of the usual $56 for all other dates. Of course, I want to travel on April 6th!

I believe Amtrak has new "bucket fares" on these NE lines, and when one bucket fills up the price moves to the next (higher priced) one; also at peak times (like Fridays or Sundays) the fares seem to start out on higher "buckets." I have no idea why April 3-6 would be higher, though; it's pretty far into the future for that train and time of year, it's Monday-Thursday, it's not Easter week, and if it were merely some kind of spring break at a lot of schools, and the lower-priced buckets all bought out because of student travel, then April 7--which is a FRIDAY, usually busier--would be at the higher price too, and it isn't! Only explanation I can think of is that some group bought the lower-priced tickets for some kind of group travel on those days. Either that or Amtrak's pricing is mis-entered on the computers for those days. You can check with an agent.
