What in heck happened to #14 on the 5th and 7th?

I was curious about the week's timekeeping. Most days looked pretty good, but on the 5th there was a "service disruption" and no times were provided for a departure from LA.

On the 7th, it was right on time out of LA, but was a whopping 4 hours late to Santa Barbara (so it took three times as long as normal to get there), and 6 hours late to Salinas. Even for the Starlate, this is extreme.

Anyone have the story?

I remeber the one that was 4 hours late into Santa Barbara hit a person or something outside Chatsworth.

I believe Sunset is correct about the 7th. We did a day trip (Surfliners 799/798) SBA/SLO on the 3rd, however, and were pleasantly surprised to see #14 actually a bit early into SLO and with a "real" Parlour Car. #11, however, was running 12 hours late...

We had proposed to do this trip earlier but ran into a "bustitution" situation because of trackwork. My short trip report is posted elsewhere here. It was a very pleasant daytrip.
