I was going to post this on the other thread that was started, but did not want to hijack the OP's thread with my own questions so I decided to post my own questions here.

I am taking the eastbound EB from Portland. I depart on a FRIDAY (next week) and from my recent research I have discovered that there is a possiblity that the westbound equipment may not make it down to PDX if they miss their window to get through (and they have to bus pax the night before from Spokane).

Does all of the equipment go to Seattle if that happens? Could we take a Cascade train up the next morning and get on the EB in SEA to avoid having to be bussed PDX to Spokane? We would have to catch an early train to get up to SEA but I would really prefer this to the bus to Spokane option.

Can anyone comment on this or give advice? Thanks!

Check the status of the westbound train when you get up that morning. If you call the 800 number and indeed something is amiss then get the agent on the phone and get changed to go through to Seattle. Get to the station about an hour before to exchange you ticket and pay any fare increase if there is one. Good luck but I hope your train does come west through the gorge for you.

Thanks, am I correct in thinking that all of the equipment for the train goes to SEA (the PDX portion does not stay in Spokane?)

If you try the link to trainorders.com I put in the other thread here on this subject, there are a few answers. Someone said they did get routed via SEA westbound for no additional charge. They also said if 27 goes to SEA, then the next day there will be a bus instead of 28 from PDX.

Sounds like alot depends on whether 27 is on time in Spokane. Good Luck!
