That is what they have dubbed these thunderstorms! There are sinkholes everywhere and houses are flooding one by one [Eek!] . The City council is in an emercency meeting to try to get El Paso declared a disaster zone. So long #1 [Roll Eyes] !! It can't enter town and the UP has made the smart decision and has shut down all rail lines in and out of town. Too many washouts!! They should kill #1 in Alpine or it will be AT LEAST 15 hrs down into ELP IF they reopen the railroad. Dallas yard in under 3 ft of water and alfalfa at least a foot. Don't know about BNSF but its line along Doniphan Dr. is gone! And the rain won't quit till the early hours of tomorrow morning. As I type this they are enforcing a mandatory evacuation for all low lying areas and for certain neighboorhoods. Mine is next in line due to the threat of a landslide [Frown] . Will update whenever I get the chance.

It's hard to imagine rain in El Paso. It was flooding here last week. At one point we had 4.5 inches in 45 minutes.

I know it's hard to imagine but a lot of homes are under water or buried in mud. Today the city is bascily sut down with no businesses open so the whole city can help with the clean up.

I don't see it on the national news. I wonder why you all are getting ignored.

We were mentioned on CNN, I think they were the only national network that broadcasted us.

I hope hurricane Chris doesn't have any more Siblings!

Just the days mentioned, there are MOW equipment out on the line and are checking the tracks again and track gangs are working non-stop repairing the track. The track has been repaired and regular speed limit reinstated in some areas:

Staruss to Anapra
Piedras St. to Alfalfa
Clint eastward...
