Found these very interesting videos on youtube. Never knew that the Capital Limited and the Lake Shore linked together like this...has this happened before?
Amtrak train 29 and 48 were combined and ran over the Michigan Line from Chicago to Dearborn on February 25th 2007. This was due to congestion on the NS ex-NYC main in relation to the recent derailment in Goshen. Amtrak 30 arrived into Dearborn at 0815 this morning. Pretty good time from Kalamazoo!
At the Dearborn Amtrak station, lead ITCS unit #30 was cut off and turned at Bay City Jct and the train finally departed around 093o with Amtrak #71, went down the Junction Yards secondary to the Detroit Line and down to Toledo.
Found quite a few nice very Amtrak videos there. Love the sounds of the gate crossings and train going by. Really miss that since we dont have that anywhere near here.
Are there other instances where trains have linked like this?

That was interesting! I, too, have seen a few interesting rail videos on You Tube. I have one I'd like to post, a music video I made, actually, but it contains copyrighted material (the music), and I don't know how to go about getting permission.

I thought it was really interesting to see the differences between all the different types of Sleeers, Coach cars, and Lounge/Dining cars... all on the same train.
