Just wondering if anyone has heard anything lately regarding the CS.Are they still substituting a sightseer lounge if PPC isnt availble? Just wondering as we are taking a trip on the CS on Jan.12.
Thanks for any info

I rode #11 from Seattle to L.A. departing the 21st of Dec/07. There was no parlour car and no extra lounge for first-class passengers. On the first day of wine tasting it was held in the dining car, and on the second day, at least in my sleeper, our attendant served us copious quanties of wine and cheese in our bedrooms.

I was kinda wondering the same thing. I'll be taking the CS from LA to Portland in mid Feb and was really looking forward the the PPC.

Welcome to this forum, "3dpoodles" -- I believe with the "revamping" of the CS scheduled for this spring, the parlour cars will now be more "available," as I believe they have all been repaired now. However, I defer to Mr. Toy, Frank in SBA, or Vicki or some of our other California members to confirm this.........

The date for the final unveiling is supposed to be May 8th, oddly enough the day I plan to board the CS for Seattle. I have had one out of three trips in the past year with a PPC. Frank sees the train a lot, he may have a better estimate on the number of trains with a PPC at the current time.

Vicki--

I haven't been getting down to the station much since I'm waiting for February 8th to become bionic with a new hip. A nice little trip north on the "new" CS might be a good first outing after the rehab. Looking for a cruise, too!
