We are scheduled to travel coach from Philly To Miami for a cruise next month. We will then be taking a shuttle from the Port Of Miami to our hotel in Deerfield Beach.

My oldest son will not be going on the second leg of the trip, and his return Coach ticket is from Miami to Philly. My question is, can he ride up with us to Deerfield Beach and board the same train in Deerfield Beach later that day?
If so, does he need to notify Amtrak that he will be boarding in Deerfield and not Miami?
Thanks.

I think it would be better to let them know and get a change of ticket to be on the safe side. Amtrak are really good about canceling tickets and selling new ones.

Considering you are boarding at a relatively busy station and a busy time of year, really no need to notify Amtrak unless interested in $ refund of small dif. in fare.

If we get off of the ship late, he can still go the Miami station if needed, which is why we did not want to exchange tickets.
