I actually live sort of closer to FUL than I do LAX. FUL you cannot overnight park at the station and LAX the lot closes to Alameda (come in the main drive way make a left and the lot to your left) has a sign no overnight parking. Does Union offer overnight parking?

Park in the MTA lot for $6 per day, 30 day limit. Enter at the back side of the station over where the bus transit center is.

You can park long-term/overnight at Fullerton also. Not in the parking lot, but the parking garage. The owner of this website (Steve Grande) writes about it in most of his Amtrak travelogues when he takes long-distance train trips.

Smitty, Thanks I will have to check that out next time I go down to FUL. I saw the garage there, but I thought that was for the shopping district only.
