Has anyone recently taken the Amtrak thruway bus connection between Chemult, Oregon and Redmond (Bend) Oregon?

http://www.highdesert-point.com/assets/Schedules-2014/TAC-SUMMER-SCHEDULE-4-14-14.pdf

I was up in the Redmond/Bend/Sisters area last week. I flew round trip from Portland to Redmond. I would like to, sometime, return to the area on vacation. With the Coast Starlight having a better on-time performance, I wonder if the Chemult train to bus connection, both to and from, is without excessive delays? Is the Chemult station a platform or is it a true depot with inside waiting room, etc.?

The Chemult "station" is an Amshack next to the tracks, with an enclosed glass "bus shelter" type station.

There's new shuttle bus service between Klamath Falls (a real train station) and the Medford airport. Schedules appear to be timed to accommodate Starlight passengers to/from California.

Thanks for the info.

From this link: http://www.trainweb.org/usarail/chemult.htm

...I sort of thought the station was more elaborate with a possible waiting room.

The new shuttle between Klamath Falls and the Medford airport is interesting. Could be a good way to detrain the Starlight, in Klamath, and get over to Ashland as well as Medford for a prime rib dinner at Porters.

I think Medford is now the only airport in SW Oregon with commercial air service, so it's nice to know there's a connection between the K-Falls Amtrak station and the Medford airport. I'm hoping to make a trip to Crater Lake this fall; possibly flying from Seattle to Medford, rent a car for visits to Crater Lake and Ashland, return the car and take the bus to K-Falls and then take Amtrak back to Seattle.

Sounds like a nice trip. I haven't been to Crater Lake since the early 1960's.

Too bad the SP Rogue River train isn't still around.....Portland to Ashland.
