The Talgo was supposed to start the Seattle/Vancouver runs today. Per the mysterious "Zephyr" who posts on the Train Orders and Cruise Critic forums, this did not happen. He went to Everett to observe.
We know this is not our Zephyr since he escaped zip 5 only to be trapped in Canada. I think TwinStar had something to do with that strike.

The response to my latest inquiry to Amtrak (yesterday, 27 July 09) was August 7th. We shall see. I know you and Art are looking forward to this ride as are we. We're looking forward to your visit to Carpinteria and Santa Barbara next week, too!

This is all very interesting, because at work over the weekend, I saw an official policy notice saying they were returning to the Vancouver train as of 7/27.

Perhaps they plan on a "soft" return of service? I'm not going to cash in the AGR points until I'm sure it will be "real" BusinessClass.
BTW, does anyone know if the two seat side is on the Sound side? Or is it one of those "you never know" situations?
Has much progress been made on the King Street Station rehab? The last time I was there (three years ago???) they were working on the ceilings and walls exposing the wonderful tile work.
