I just finished another new route guide on my web site -- St. Paul to Chicago. I think this is a pretty good guide, so enjoy it!!!

Thanks, RRRich, I just checked it, and it is simply splendid!!!! I will be sure to print up a copy to take with me if I do take the EB eastbound this spring, as I hope I might. . . .

BTW, Red Wing is also known for its juvenile correctional facility, made famous perhaps by native Minnesotan Bob Dylan's song about being "inside the walls, the walls of Red Wing."

And the actress Winona Ryder is named for Winona, MN, though I don't believe she spent any time there. This doesn't particularly interest me but someone might be interested!!!

Sojourner -- thank you for these interesting tidbits!! I guess I am not familiar with that Dylan song, and the one about Winona Ryder was interesting.

Joan Baez sings the song on her album of Dylan songs "Any Day Now"--though there are many songs on that album I like better (inc "North Country Blues," also about Minnesota). But I remember when I first passed Red Wing on the EB, my first thought was how interesting it was to learn that the Red Wing from the songs was actually a Minnesota town. There is apparently some debate about whether Dylan was ever a denizen of the juvenile establishment (you can do a google search to find the details).
