All--

Today I was in Carpinteria (Four month cleaning and check with my dentist) and afterwards treated myself to a cheeseburger (with grilled onions) and fries at "The Spot". While enjoying a beautiful day and a good lunch I watched the delayed (about fifteen minutes) NB #763 make its stop. It appeared to be unusually dirty. Not just the windows but the locomotive and cars themselves. I know there is a wash facility at Goleta. Do they no longer use it? If so, how often?

Friends of Vicki and Art--

The last e-mail I had was as they were approaching Cairns, Australia. The cruise has been fantastic and they still have all of November left before their return to San Diego and Surfliner trip back to LAUPT where their adventure began.

Amtrak LA can't wash cars except for the long haul trains during the day. I'm sick and tired of looking out dirty windows in Surfliners.

Chris--

So what happened with the car washing facility in Goleta. It's still there -- or was last week. it's just west of the Goleta "Station".

It still there but the last I heard was they could only wash one train a day there.
