Here are two kinda scary videos that show why both trains 7 and 8 are annuled (and detoured) through North Dakota. High winds are throwing waves up onto the tracks in the Devils Lake region.
Been reading lot's of articles about Devil's Lake and the increasing liklihood of a permanent Amtrak reroute.....
These two videos are worth about 40,000 written words.

I never knew about the problems with Devils Lake until this incident that involved Amtrak's schedule. I did some digging in local news articles, and apparently this is a problem that has been developing for several years. What a nightmare it has become!
