First one changed out near Trenton NJ and second one in WAS.

Too bad the first one died near Trenton. The change in Washington is normal as the trains switch from electric to diesel power. Hopefully you'll make up time to Savannah though a late arrival might permit time for breakfast.

It did! We were 45 minutes late into Savannah! Just enough time for breakfast! [Smile]

Train Granny, I have been remiss in not welcoming you to our bunch of advocates for passenger rail (not limited to Amtrak - see David Pressley's trip report on the state operated Piedmont service). You certainly have the right attitude to fully enjoy a trip and hope you have many more good ones.

If you liked the trains on this trip, you'll absolutely love a journey on one of the scenic western trains. Hope that's in your near future.
