A few nights ago, our local PBS station showed the latest installment in the series, "Trains Around North America". I've seen several of their presentations, but I think this latest one might be their best, yet.
Adirondack Scenic RR. Utica-Thendara-Lake Placid. Nice shot of the interior of the Utica station.
Potomac Eagle Scenic RR. I didn't know eagles are seen that far east.
Virginia & Truckee RR.
Pullman Rail Journeys. Chicago to New Orleans.
Blue Ridge Scenic RR. A shot of the old Mineral Bluffs depot, over 100 yrs. old.
Wisconsin Great Northern RR. I was especially interested in this one. Starts out in Trego, Wisc. They strive to recreate a 1950's passenger train experience. Nice dining car, luxury lounge car, several bedrooms with separate sinks, toilets, and showers. It's an overnight train. They refer to it as a "bed and breakfast" train.
Mount Hood RR. Hood River, Oregon.
Illinois Railway Museum.
Cape Code Central RR.
Rocky Mountaineer. I guess they have a band new or renovated station, complete with a guy playing classical music on the piano.
Skunk Train. Willits to Fort Bragg, Calif.
If the program comes to your local PBS station, it's worth a watch.

Looks like a nice show. If my station doesn't have it, maybe it'll show up on Roku or home video. As for eagles..yes, in fact we had a couple of bald eagles raise a family last year in a nest on an island in the James River, right in the city of Richmond.

The bald eagle nest must have been interesting. I really liked the West Virginia scenery shown during the Potomac Eagle railroad segment. They use, mostly, 1950's era B/O & C/O locos to run the train.
Hope you get a chance, Jerome, to catch the program.

There are bald eagles around the Hudson River in NYS and you can sometimes see them from the train between Albany and NYC
