It may be time to buy some stock in MobileQubes:

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/amtrak-partners-mobilequbes-solve-portable-120000865.html;_ylt=AwrXgiMG78BVWGoA1iDQtDMD;_ylu=X3oDMTByYnR1Zmd1BGNvbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMyBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--

I wonder how they enforce the return of the "Qubes", afterwards.

Usually, for this type of thing, you'd need to use a credit card so they can put a hold on an amount, which is released when the "Qube" is returned - or turned into a charge if not.

That sounds like what most likely will happen, Geoff.

I think many will opt to purchase a MobileQube if they are regular Amtrakies.... it might be cheaper in the long run.

There are several competing vendors in this market. Not sure yet which one will be the big winner.

One issue for Amtrak is the limited number of its destinations which have capability. You'd expect Chicago (still the hub of the wheel) to have parallel pickup charger kiosks at Springfield, St Louis, Indy, ad infinitum on its routes out of Chicago.

Hope they do.
