Anybody know what happened to the Empire Builder this week? #8(10) arrived in Chicago 12h27 late (yes, half a day, at 4:22am). It lost 5 hours between Williston and Stanley, and another 4 hours between Stanley and Minot. Delays after that, well, it had lost its path long before then so its priority was presumably pretty low.

Probably oil freight delays, which I thought were resolved after all the trackwork last year, but I guess not..........

I nailed down further where the train was and on both occasions the train was just sat in a siding for 4+ hours, no movement at all in that time. Even a single broken down train shouldn't cause that kind of a delay. Derailment perhaps.
