We Will Travel round Trip New Orleans To Chicago,To Seattle and Back. I have my Radio Shack Handheld Scanner so I can Listen To The Train Crew and the Railroads, and the Railroadyards along the way. I Got My Headphones that I can Take. I also Got me a deluxe rubber Antenna For My Handheld Scanner So that it Can Boost up the reception. also I can take along the Long Life Batteries for My Scanner.
So I was Wondering if Anyone had any advice for my Mom? She will Be interested About This Deluxe Bedroom. and Others Experience with it.

The deluxe bedroom is very nice. Ask for B,C or D bedrooms. A&E are either next to the stairs or at the end of the car. The deluxe bedroom at the end of the car is smaller than the others & is laid out differently. I would also suggest pricing at least a standard bedroom on your trip aboard the City of New orleans. Last time I checked it was a little more than a hundred dollars & would include 3 meals each, quite a bargain. The upper berth is hard to get into, but it's a bed nonetheless.

Reggie I Understand Your Reply. Next Year We Are Going To Travel In Superliner Coach on the City Of New Orleans From New Orleans to Chicago, And We Will Be on The Superliner Sleeping Car in the Deluxe Bedroom on The Empire Builder From Chicago, To Seattle.

Now What is The Best to Make Reservations For Next Summer Coach Travel On The City Of New Orleans From New Orleans To Chicago, And Sleeping Car Travel on The Empire Builder From Chicago, To Seattle?

I never travel in coach except for very short daytime travel. I usually suggest a standard bedroom for two people on a single night segment & a deluxe bedroom for 2 nights or more. So instead of traveling coach from New Orleans to Chicago, price the upgrade to at least a standard bedroom.

I Understand Your Reply. I Guess We Will Have to Be In Standard Bedroom. on The City Of New Orleans From New Orleans to Chicago. and We Will Have To Be in a Deluxe Bedroom on The Empire Builder From Chicago to Seattle. So How Do We Upgrade From Standard Bedroom To a Deluxe Bedroom? From What I have Read on a Travel Planner, That The Standard Bedroom On The City Of New Orleans is Designed for one or two Passengers, with two Comfortable reclining seats on either side of a big Picture Window. At Night, the Seats convert to a Bed, and the attendant pulls an upper berth down from the wall.

Located on both upper and lower levels That the Restrooms and shower are Nearby.

Also, Does The Standard Bedroom have room Numbers on the upper Levels and Lower Levels?

We Prefered the Upper Level so what is to ask for a room Number on the Upper Level Standard Bedroom on The City of New Orleans from New Orleans to Chicago?

The City of New Orleans, from New Orleans to Chicago & the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle are both Superliner sleeper equipped. Thet have standard bedrooms 2-10 on the upper level, 1 being reserved for the attendant. Also on the upper level are Deluxe rooms A-E. The lower level has standard bedrooms 11-14 & a family bedroom & handicapped bedroom.
You can reserve a standard or deluxe room on either train. The reason I suggested at least a standard bedroom on the City of New Orleans was that you said you were traveling in coach from New Orleans to Chicago. The extra fare for a standard bedroom is very inexpensive.
You can, if you choose, book a deluxe bedroom on both trains. You can also book a standard bedroom on both trains.
I suggest at least a standard bedroom on 1 night segments, as is the train from New Orleans to Chicago. I recommend a deluxe bedroom on 2-3 night segments, as is the train from Chicago to Seattle.
Please send me an e-mail if you need more assistance. I am a travel agent specializing in rail travel & would be glad to help you & I could also book the trip for you if you so desire.
Yours Reggie
