Hello... I am the Volunteer Coordinator for the north operation of the Adirondack Scenic Railroad and work out of Lake Placid NY. We are seeking new people to fill voids left by retired volunteers from all areas but especially in the Lake Placid area. Due to age or health or jobs we have lost several volunteers in all capacities and would like to gain some new people to our railroad. All areas from Car Host to Engineer need people. The Car Host positions do not require formal training but anything above that like Trainman to Engineers does. The railroad provides this training as we are a NORAC railroad. Volunteers are paid mileage and given food vouchers to allow them to drive to our operation and eat during the day. Otherwise it's volunteer time. For anyone looking to get into railroading on a semi professional level, this is the place to learn as we are a true operating railroad even though it's staffed primarily by volunteers. It's what keeps up going. Contact me in any of the listed way below to get more information.
