Seashore Trolley Museum Receives Grant for Interpretive Sign Program Kennebunkport, Maine – May 15, 2013 Seashore Trolley Museum has received a $10,000 grant from East Hill Foundation in North Tonawanda, NY to fund the initial phases of a comprehensive Interpretive Sign Program.
The Museum’s planned five-phase Interpretive Sign Program is designed to appeal to the needs, interests, and expectations of contemporary audiences and incorporates high-tech as well as traditional methods of sharing information.
According to Sally Bates, Executive Director, “Seashore Trolley Museum will continue to enhance our relevance and service to our communities by providing exhibits and interpretations that engage today’s diverse audiences in highly accessible ways. The scope of the project includes interpretation of individual vehicles, collections, buildings and infrastructure throughout the museum campus, using technologies that allow for frequent updates and accommodate many individual user choices.”
Seashore Trolley Museum will be seeking additional funding from a variety of sources to complete subsequent phases of the project.
Seashore Trolley Museum is the world’s oldest and largest electric railway museum.
